Fall Colors from General Conference Weekend

On General Conference Sunday, we drove up to Idaho. We stopped along the way to see our very favorite road in Cove:

It's the road we used to get to the 14-foot camping trailer we lived in when we first got married

Look at these amazing colors. . . is it any wonder we loved living there?

Well. . . until it snowed. Then I cried.

Our trailer was parked right next to this tree line, just north of the Utah-Idaho border:

I guess that technically means I've lived in Idaho.

After lunch with my family and some General Conference, we left to go home. But first, we took my mom's advice and went for a little drive up the canyon past their house.

And this is what we saw:

The October Visiting Teaching Message says that we are the reason that God created the universe. He created all of this beauty for us. Because He loves us. And wants us to understand our divine nature. What a perfect message for this beautiful time of year.

"This is a paradox of man: compared to God, man is nothing; yet we are everything to God."

I will work on the newlywed story another day. After I get caught up on Africa. . . so maybe in another year or two :)
